The 29th episode hosts Caroline Diel, who is not only an exceptional winemaker, but a lovely host and an inspiring professional. This episode is just a slice of the wonderful experience we were lucky to enjoy at the Diel winery and family home on the 6th of June in Rümmelsheim, Nahe, Germany. The scenery alone, an ancient castle, was breathtaking and majestic. The Burg Layen is in the possession of the Diel family since 1802 and created a captivating setting for our conversation, dinner and of course tasting. Caroline has talked about his experiences in the wine world all over the planet, described their own unique terroirs and why their 3 GG wines are particularly exciting to taste side by side. You can hear Caroline’s detailed insights into her winemaking philosophy, especially in the Pinot Noir making, which you especially want to hear from a former DRC intern. This conversation and evening had a lasting impact on me personally as well as professionally, and I can only hope the same for you. Better with Diel wine ghost in your glass. Please enjoy and watch a segment of our conversation and some cellar work in motion on the Wine Ghosts Youtube channel.
