Whitney shared key findings from the report Untapped Reserves 3.0,  which assesses diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) in the energy sector. The report examines DE&I challenges, perceptions, and interventions and offers recommendations to advance diversity, innovation, and business resiliency.

In this episode of the Women's Energy Council Podcast, Gayle Brim, Managing Director of Technology Transformation at Grant Thornton joins us to advise on how not to feel overwhelmed or behind the curve when it comes to transformation, as well as how to balance costs when making significant changes to existing operations in the short term to assist in long term gains. We also discuss what keeps Gayle excited about her role every day, alongside the importance of Grant Thornton’s business resource groups in maintaining their diversity and inclusion goals.

In this month’s episode of the Women’s Energy Council podcast, we sat down with Katherine Roe, CEO of Wentworth Resources. Throughout this discussion we were struck by Katherine’s passion and conviction in the importance of energy production for Tanzania, from Wentworth’s perspective as a leading supplier of natural gas in the country. We discuss the importance of a differentiated approach to the energy transition in the developing vs developed world, and that conventional energy production and sustainability are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Following our discussions in April with another female leader in African oil and gas, Khady Ndiaye of Kosmos Energy, it is fantastic to see senior female executives leading the charge for reliable, sustainable energy provision on the continent. In this second installment of our March features month podcasts, we had the pleasure of speaking with Behnaz Rahimi-Zand, Senior Process Engineer for Technip Energies. Beginning her career at home in Iran, Behnaz has since spent over 20 years in various different technical, engineering and consultancy roles in the downstream oil and gas industry.

Having spent time in the field in her engineering capacity, Behnaz shares her experiences of life as a female engineer with all of its challenges and opportunities. One thing that stood out in this episode is the clarity in Behnaz’s path – she became an engineer because she was meant to be an engineer, regardless of gender, nationality, faith or any other factor. As she asserts throughout the episode, one’s career path is a result of one’s personality, interests and abilities, nothing more.
