The standard of the guests has dropped
I LOVED the last season hosted by the incomparable Zawe Ashton, but I can’t make this a 5 star review after listening to the irritating chat with Scarlett Curtis. The new host Vick Hope is fine, but I got very little from the latest episode, mostly due to the choice of guest, and what she had to say. I empathise over her ill health and mental illness, but it was the bit about ‘my dad wrote Love Actually’ that really made me grind my teeth. FFS. It takes quite a lot for me to be bothered enough to leave a review this just wasn’t good.

Great calibre of guests talking about far-ranging themes, and fabulous, cosy debates on books (with some super recommendations - my TBR pile has swelled since listening!)

Usually leaves me with an urge to politely burn the patriarchy to the ground & often with new books to read or inspiration to re-read as an adult
