Constable's Cloud Studies: Personal Thoughts about His Most Personal Works
Mark Leonard, Chief Conservator at the Dallas Museum of Art, presents the opening lecture for the special exhibition, "Reflections on Constable's Cloud Studies: Paintings by Mark Leonard," on view at the Yale Center for British Art from November 30, 2012 to March 13, 2013. The exhibition features a suite of eleven works by Leonard created in response to John Constable’s cloud studies and small landscapes in the Center’s collection. The paintings are displayed in a one-to-one relationship with Constable’s works, allowing visitors to study Constable in a new light, and to appreciate Leonard’s
rigorously structured and highly detailed paintings.
