“I ride my bike home from work every day. Aren't you proud of me? No, really, this is relevant, and not just because it establishes my character as an environmentally-friendly do-gooder, or maybe a major cheapskate who won't pay for gas or parking. So I listen to podcasts on my way home. I don't use in-ear headphones, so I'll hear you trying to run me over. Plus I have a mirror. Don't try it. Also there's this great hill on the way home. Well, the down part it great. I've been known to hit 35 mph on that hill, and the wind comes rushing along and fills my ears because, remember, my headphones do not block out the sound. I can hear you. Just not when I'm going down that hill. At least not very well. I can barely hear my podcasts. I can pick out a word or two on the way down, enough so that I haven't lost the thread of it by the time I hit the bottom and start the grueling climb back up. At least for most podcasts. In fact, for almost all of my podcasts I strain for those few words and then play catch up, but the one exception is You Look Nice Today. If You Look Nice Today happens to be playing when I hit that hill, I have to (carefully, and after looking behind me to make sure you aren't trying to run me over) take my hand off of the handlebars and pause my iPod. Then, at the bottom of the hill, I start it playing again. So that's what I have to say about You Look Nice Today. It's not only worth listening to, it's worth NOT listening to. If you know what I mean.”
