“Hey, I tried to give this podcast a couple of listens & it still feels like a podcast of people just “dumping” on the show & not looking at it with brand new eyes for what the show is reflecting now in the world. As the producers have said before, this show is within the same world of the original gossip girl but it’s completely different. The hosts seem to discuss how “cringe worthy” or uncomfortable it is & it makes it hard to take their feedback as it always feels like they point out all the “negatives”, but never truly give positive feedback at all. If it’s that hard to watch, stop watching & focus on a different show. As a fan of the original show as well, I feel like Gossip Girl 2.0 gives the franchise a necessary “fresh take” on that world in 2021 & how much it has changed since the original one. We are far beyond “headbands & campy drama” in 2007. This is 2021 & this show reflects that in a good way.”
