Mesmerizing case told with heart, skill and balance. Mix of narration and interviews kept me engaged.

Great research. It’s just too bad you are not a police investigator or this case would have been solved years ago! Chris’ telling of this tragedy is excellent and informative. The unsolved case of Kristen Smart has always outraged me because Kristen and her family have received absolutely no...Read full review »

I hope that some rich person listens to this and comes forward wanting to help with the costs of digging up the backyard and orchard... if that’s what is stopping the cops from doing it!

I’m a local and remember this case. I had no idea they had a suspect. The watch alarm at 4:20 is haunting. Kristens Parents, my heart breaks for you. I’m enlightened by your documentary. Thank you.

I have NEVER heard of this case until now! I am beyond frustrated! Thank you for bringing this case to light! I can’t wait to finish listening! I really want to do something to help get this family justice!!! It is the season of justice! Let’s get justice for Kristin and bring her home to her...Read full review »

I am only on Episode 4. I remember this case but have no idea the outcome. I intentionally did not google once I started the Podcast! Easy to listen to. I am an avid listener of Podcasts and always wonder why so many of these investigations are so poorly run or not run at all. Such a travesty! It...Read full review »

Thank you for doing this podcast! I live in Slo and almost everyone that I know knows Kristen’s name but don’t know a lot about the case. It’s weird to think this happened in my community and that I could easily connect the locations from the podcast to the picture I remember of them from when I...Read full review »

I went to high school with Paul Flores and my co-worker knew Kristen Smart. I drove by her billboard daily for years. I very easily could have been one of the girls being interviewed here. At first I thought my love of this podcast was due to it hitting so close to home. But I have recommended it...Read full review »

I really enjoyed listening to this podcast, because it was extremely informative. I learned a lot I didn’t know, and he does such a great job telling the story, but remaining very sensitive to the tragedy.

This is a tragic yet interesting story, but the production needed to be better. This story tells itself; there’s mystery, compelling characters, and the mystique of an ongoing investigation, but the audio effects & change in volume gets in the way. I do appreciate setting context and...Read full review »

I was right back in San Luis Obispo, visualizing so many of the locations, and picturing what must have been. The buried under the PAC was the greatest theory (of your 18-22 year old untrained investigators) back then. This sad story just won’t end for the Smart family. Yes, there is a lot of...Read full review »

Great coverage, being fascinated by true crime myself, I’m disappointed to find out I had not realized Kristin smart was not Elizabeth smart, is confused the two, great to know this case is still progressing, hoping for justice for her and her family

Thank you for shedding light on Kristin Smart’s story. This is one of the worst accounts of law enforcement mishandling an investigation I’ve ever heard. Real investigative journalism is a dying art, Chris Lambert is one of the few. My heart breaks for the Smart family. Keep telling Kristin’s...Read full review »

Very well done. Excellently researched, and presented and the presenters voice is very easy to listen to. I truly hope the person(s) responsible are brought to justice. I loved all the depth and detail. Chris’s voice is not ominous... and relatable which I love. This is my favorite kind of podcast. It’s thorough, compassionate, and the host doesn’t ramble and continually repeat himself just to fill the space.

I couldn’t get past the first episode because it’s irksome so listen hoping to find out about a true story only to find the narrator makes the whole podcast about his own journey in creating a podcast. Too many self-aware details making it all about the host, not the missing woman.

This podcast caught my eye with its high rating. I decided to try it and have not been disappointed. I love true crime podcasts and really enjoy when the editing is good. The editing was spot on. The story was interesting. Must listen.

This is the best podcast I’ve listened to in a while. Fascinating, thoroughly researched, and infuriating when you realize that the lack of answers in this case stems directly from a bungled investigation.

I actually really liked this and would recommend it, but I need to rant about my pet peeves where I knocked a star off.... so take it with some levity. I’ve rewritten this a ton. I think my criticisms is misplaced anger at cops, so episode 07 makes me cringe

What a fantastic job of covering a complicated case. This podcast was so well done. Being that I was a small child (and on the other side of the country) when Kristin disappeared, I had never heard of her case. I hate that her family has not received closure and will be praying they are able to soon.

I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and I thought I knew more or less how this one would go. I was wrong. The story starts out normal enough but it takes some HUGE turns. A real deviation from the normal and Chris Lambert was a joy to listen to.
