“Why do people love this show so much? Why do they speak of it with such breathless enthusiasm? When you start listening, you won’t get it for a second. It’s not like there are hip, Radiolab-esque production values. The hosts are charming, personable, intelligent, etc. but they’re not uniquely slick. They’re not word wizards blowing your mind with their delicately crafted and uniquely eloquent wit. But there’s something here that exists less and less everywhere else. Something we, the tweetsick masses yearn for from the bottom of our tired, myopic souls: NUANCED. TAKES. Truly mindblowing, at this point, to hear people break discourse down in a way that challenges our own cloesly guarded knee jerk loyalties.”
