“OG Buffy fan here (watched it in high school and college during its original run and have since re-watched a few times). I’m a big fan of Buffy Gays and Prophecy Girls, but both of those pods are by what I would call “Buffy experts.” The wonderful differentiator of Boys Watching Buffy is that neither Joe nor Vance have ever seen the show… so each week they go in totally cold and spoiler free. They … are … HILARIOUS. Between Joe’s bro-tastic recaps and Vance’s bone-dry observations, together they are comedy gold. Listening to this podcast is like sitting your chillest buddies down and just reveling in all the shock, confusion, and gobsmacked hysterics that come with watching Buffy without baggage. And I don’t want to spoil the boys (they betta gimme a shoushoushoushooouuwwwtout) but they continue to shock me with some insanely accurate and relevant, nearly precognitive one might say, predictions of where the show is going. At the time of this review, they’re about to start season 5 and I CANNOT WAIT for their reactions to how batshiiiz craycray the series becomes. Looking forward to being a part of their often funny, often surprising, always entertaining Buffy journey! Thanks guys!”
