On May 24, 2022, Cisco’s Security Incident Response (CSIRT) and Cisco Talos, their cybersecurity intelligence group, detected a breach of their network. Further investigation revealed that a Cisco employee’s VPN credentials were compromised through a combination of phishing and social engineering attacks.
