“Which is nothing to say for the extreme lack of diversity. I think the reviews are thorough (though maybe overly so - much like some albums that are criticized for being overly long - the episodes could use an editor). The title of the podcast is misleading. “Every Single Album” made me think it was going to feature a much wider range of music and musicians. The episodes about Taylor Swift, Adele, Harry Styles and One Direction take up like 90% of the catalogue. And the number of episodes after they talk about Swift album is that is about her PROMOTING the album is also wild. There are almost always MORE of those episodes than of the album review ep. I see in the description it mentions that they are pop music enthusiasts but they did one episode on Cowboy Carter (which - if anything deserved multiple episodes to unpack? I mean COME ON). Anyway, the CC shows they are willing to use the word “pop” in a looser way. (Though strangely no episode on Renaissance?!). I don’t know I was hoping I found a podcast that would make me think more deeply about the music I love AND maybe show me some albums that are popular but go beyond Swift, Adele, Styles.”
