Description
Rose Chatterton started out in the music business in New York working for record companies like RSO Records™ with artists such as Eric Clapton and the Bee Gees and then switched careers in the late 1980s to became a hair stylist and worked in New York City hair salons.  That salon work led to doing print ads for Saks Fifth Avenue and Commercials. After ten years working between salons and on indie films, Rose became a member of Local 798 IATSE a Union for make-up artists and hair stylists with contracts in film, television, theatre and new media.   Becoming a Union member opened many doors from working on soaps, AS THE WORLD TURNS; styling news anchors at CBS; working on Broadway musicals, FOSSE and the Broadway-styled musical at Madison Square Garden, A CHRISTMAS CAROL in addition to Keying on feature films.  Eventually Rose found her niche in episodic television filming in New York City.  Rose's first Department Head television series was NEW YORK UNDERCOVER in 1998.  Once established in TV, Rose worked with a variety of talented film makers like Directors Sidney Lumet, Barry Levinson and David Milch.  In between work on TV series, Rose also worked with Christopher Reeve and Al Pacino for personal appearances and commercials but episodic TV and its fast pace was her siren song. In 2014 Rose was Key/2nd Hair on season one of Steven Soderbergh's THE KNICK and was nominated for a Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Award for Best Period Hair Styling and a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Hairstyling for a Single-Camera Series in 2015 as a member of THE KNICK Hair Department team. Also, in 2015 Rose was elected President of Local 798 IATSE Make-up Artists and Hair Stylists Union. You can email your questions to [email protected] or follow us on Twitter @123Film
