“I was really excited to find this podcast. I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan and I was eager to listen to deep dives about her songs. Unfortunately, I was listening to an episode and a commercial came on describing resources for a crisis pregnancy center. For those who don’t know, a CPC is a “clinic” (not even though) who often offers free resources like ultrasounds and “counseling.” They often target scared women who are looking for the option for pregnancy termination, lie to them and say they can have an appointment, and by the time the patient knows what’s going on they are too far along in their pregnancy to terminate. They often build buildings next to Planned Parenthoods and other clinics who provide abortion services and trick women to coming to their office instead.
I’m an OB/GYN resident physician. I’ve seen women die from pregnancy and I’ve seen women die from complications from unsafe, self-managed attempts at abortion. CPCs are unsafe for women and provide no useful resources for anyone. I urge this podcast to remove those commercials and refuse any future support from these businesses.
Furthermore- there was an episode about all the times Taylor mentioned alcohol in her songs. The hosts mentioned that Taylor probably drinks red wine and would “never put ice in her wine.” Anyone who has seen the Miss Americana documentary on Netflix would know that she drinks both red and white wine AND she sometimes puts ice in her white wine. Sooooo would also encourage fact checking before hitting publish 💁🏻♀️”
