Amazing but heartbreaking truth
Words cannot express how this podcast has opened my eyes to the terrible truth that I didn’t know about slavery and I gave read many books on the topic. I cried listening to the voice of a man that preferred to die than return to a life without freedom. I was born in the US but my parents are Hispanic and know full well the feeling of not belonging although Puerto Rico didn’t have a choice either when we were colonized. The production was excellent, the narrator’s personal details made even more impactful. Thank you so much for this podcast NYT. I subscribed and shared to all my friends and family.

Didn’t know this was what I needed so thanks so much for this. I...Read full review »
