Would be good if not for the impressions
The voices she does for old men and Proles are very difficult to understand. I know they’re supposed to be Northerners or Cockneys, and obviously being an American she can’t do that kind of voice. But her impression is so exaggerated that I can hardly understand it, and what’s more it is cartoonish and ruins the immersion. Had she retained her normal voice I could just imagine a Northern accent on top of it, but I can’t do that when I am just straining trying to comprehend her. Likewise she does this very soft breathy swooning voice for Julia. Whyyyy. It ruins my ability to imagine it. Julia is not a swoony little girl; she is a tough and sardonic woman. Girl, you’re yourself a grown woman, and you’ve a very nice and clear grown woman’s voice, so use it! If you will stop doing this I will actively seek out your other audiobooks because you are otherwise a really good narrator!!!!
