The guru acts as a facilitator of the disciple's journey, accompanying them and listening with them to what Krishna wishes to reveal. We also reflect on the dangers of over-expectation and over-idealization, not just from disciple to guru, but also from guru to disciple. Over-idealizing leads to dehumanization, where we either elevate or diminish someone beyond who they truly are, limiting their potential to fully express themselves. Additionally, we examine how surrender, when misunderstood, can sometimes become a way of avoiding personal responsibility.
