“I really appreciate John’s scout and management perspectives, which are much needed when sifting through a lot of the “noise” provided by sports journalists and former players. Keep up the great work!
Question for the pod: Colin Cowherd has said for a couple years that much of Tom Brady’s success has been attributed to a great o-line...anchored by Nate Solder at left tackle, who Colin has often called “elite.” And now that Solder has signed with the Giants, Colin thinks the Giants have largely solved their o-line problems to keep Eli protected. However, what Colin seems to ignore is that for the two seasons that Dante Scarnecchia was retired, the Pats o-line, anchored by Solder, was well below average. What’s your take on how good of a left tackle Solder really is, elite or not? Is he the key for the Giants o-line? Or should most of the credit go to how well Dante seems to coach o-linemen and get the most out of above-average players for the Pats’ system?”
