“I’ve listened to this pod for many a year, the fight series during lockdown when you broke-down fights was a sense of peace during a very tough time (Joe Goosen talking about Corrales - Castillo my favourite) but I can’t believe what it’s become. Steve Bunce does not have an opinion between those eyes. Rubs up anyone who he talks to. I’ve listened to the brilliant Barry Jones on this podcast question fights, controversies and many other things and Bunce sounds like a PR company for whoever they are talking about. Bunce probably has forgotten more about boxing than I’ve ever known but now comes across as a man who won’t question anything to not get a foot in the camp. What a loss Mike Costello has been to what used to be my favourite podcast to listen to of the week. I’m not looking for some sort of shock radio here but I can’t believe a man who has been in the boxing industry for so many years is happy to just peddle what information he is told by whatever boxer/promoter he speaks to be it drug testing or fights being made. I listened to Buncey speak to Mauricio Sulliman the other week and though, yes, go on, that’s what I’m looking for from him but as soon as he is fed an interview through via his BBC connections the tough questions disappear to the other parties involved. He’ll probably never see this, and I’m assuming he doesn’t care but what a downfall from a podcast that made me fall back in love with boxing again.”
