Progressive unreality perpetuated
9-2-23 Update: BLM discussion typifies attitude. A white leftist book author is interviewed in depth on Policing of Blacks and core issues are ignored. If Blacks commit 5-10 more crimes per capita than whites, won’t they have proportionally more interactions with police and proportionally more chances for an unintended death? Why would anyone expect police interactions with Blacks and Whites to have similar per capita numbers of bad outcomes? That is only likely if: 1. Blacks change Their culture and greatly reduce crime rates or 2. Police ignore Black crime and don’t interact. Additionally, the Media policing double standard was not mentioned, ie zero tolerance for Black mishaps (as they are all presumed to be racism) but White mishaps are ignored. 5 Things, like all Commercial Media, carefully avoids discussing reality in favor of their own invented unreality. My prior critique: the Podcast is evolving. In summer 2022, leftist pieces began appearing on a near daily basis. Reporters seem cheerful and they try to use non-pejorative language. They tend to only cover subjects that liberals care about. eg no statistics on southern border infiltration. Biden family influence pedaling is uninteresting. Equality issues are only important if affecting their preferred groups. Republicans are misbehaving when they do exactly what Democrats do. Victimhood equates to heroism, etc As with all organized media, the information that people could use to help themselves is carefully avoided. eg: Greatly reduced risk of infectious disease death by fixing Vitamin D and mineral deficiencies. Processed foods that are engineered to cause obesity could be identified and avoided. They Focus on irrelevant and distracting issues instead.
