You are saving lives, saving mine
Dr. Jones thank you so much for creating this podcast- just a few episodes have opened my eyes and helped me understand that danger I’m in and the abuse that I’ve tolerated and mistaken for love for too long. This podcast is giving me the courage and validation I needed (from the appropriate place) to face my truth and take action to save my own life. With what you have created here you have saved and continue to save my life. I can’t express how much it means to hear your message and have it come from a Black woman of your expertise and experience level. Thank you for what you have done for me, for I am now on the path to getting myself my life my agency and my voice back. I have a request for a future episode/ series of episodes- while what you present is so clear and easy for me to identify myself in, I’d love to hear some topics around the relationship between queerness, mysognoir, and abuse. As a Black queer womxn survivor, I’m very curious about how those intersections impact abusive relationship dynamics. This is something I’m very interested in after learning that lesbians and bisexual women/people experience abuse at rates disproportionately higher than straight women/people. Either way, you have a listener and supporter for life in me!

I’m excited to see what topics are up next! Thank you very much - Dr. Jones - for your time and efforts...Read full review »

Helpful content for one of the most difficult kinds of human beings to deal with. Overuse of the word “absolutely” though, and host has a very sleepy, bored, detached sounding voice which can be distracting and annoying.
