Description
The New York Mets have reached the all-star break in first place for the first time since 2007. It has been a rather interesting (slightly more than) first half journey to get there. The Mets saw their season have a delayed start because of COVID-19. Then, they had to weather a slew of injuries (18 players on the IL at one point). We saw names like Jake Hager, Johneshwy Fargas, and Mason Willimas. Yet, the Mets persevered. Most recently, they played 33 games in 31 days, and came out of that in first place. They saw Jacob deGrom experience three "minor" injuries, and Taijuan Walker do a stint on the IL. They lost in excrutiating fashion on Sunday, but you get the idea, they're still in first place.
Join, Sam, Mike, and Rich as they talk about the first half, and what the Mets need to do in the second half to play post season baseball for the first time since 2016. We will talk about the highs and lows of Mets baseball from April to mid-July, the upcoming trade deadline, and much more.
