Very long episodes with maybe not much said
In the long drought between Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire installments, I went looking for something to keep me entertained related to his world. I like podcasts, so I tried this one. I started at the beginning and have completed 20 or so episodes so far. I can only listen to one per week, or it is an overload of the group. I do not have time to cruise websites and check Martin's daily for updates on progress. Nor have I ever been one to listen into other's "conspiracy theories" of what a plot means or how it will go. This podcast has informed me on things I never knew about, such at the HBO series. I also found some of the theories that they bring up to be interesting and some to be absurd. Some I figured out, they are just plain obvious, others you have to really jump a lot of hoops to get. I like that the group is dynamic and who podcasts changes. I definitely like some members better than others. I do not visit their blog. I am not a blog reader, nor do I have time. I listen to this podcast on my commute and while at work on headphones. I like the re-read they have been doing for some time now. It is interesting to catch some things on a follow-up having read all the available books until now. I do not mind the once-per-month release. I know some people who listened to only a couple episodes and ditched it. If you like the books and want more than Martin's measly podcast, then try this. Each person will have to decide if this is for them. Skipping ahead to the re-read sections may be better if the first couple episodes are still iffy.

More reviews of A Podcast of Ice and Fire
This show would be so much better if they got rid of Chase. Seriously, this guy is the worst kind of fan. Like Comic Book Guy, but even more annoying. The rest of cast is great and the podcast is really fun and entertaining between outbursts of nerd rage.

I am really enjoying this podcast. Likeable hosts and in depth conversations about a great series. The group has some naturally funny individuals. As the podcast goes on you see the show really come together (the first podcasts are enjoyable, but they get much better as they go on). Highly...Read full review »

Been listening since start of S2, been reading since 1996. My few criticisms: Amin, with the PhD is aSoIaFology: You should try sounding less like an undergrad, more like a motorcycle-riding professor. Ashley: You should giggle less, talk more. And try sounding more like the seductress...Read full review »
