I would cancel a date to listen to this podcast instead
This podcast is amazing. That doesn’t feel like a good enough word to describe it, but it’s also how I describe Mac and Cheese (which is the best, I am not willing to argue about this) so it will have to be enough. The community of this podcast is informative and validating, and each episode feels like an empowering self-hug: pasta also provides this kind of validation for me, okay. One of my closest college friends recommended this to me a few months ago and I have non-stop been listening. I’ve learned so much about myself and what I want (and need) to honor about my individual self as well as what I choose to surround myself with. I’ve sent it to countless people and wish there was a way I could make all of my friends listen to it (is it legal to like, hack my roommate’s airPods and just play this for her?). Shani is an incredible host; she is honest and authentic and I love nodding and laughing along with her when I listen to this show. She has so many unique and knowledgeable guests and I trust her so much that I feel like I could approach her like a friend even tho we have literally never met?? For example, what cat litter do you use? Is low price kitty litter okay??? Anyway, “A Single Serving” has so much depth and insight on a variety of topics. Somehow, listening to this podcast makes me feel like I’m the one being heard, and you, dear review reader, deserve to have that feeling too.

I don’t remember how I found Shani’s writing, probably through Refinery 29, but ever since I read a story of hers about moving when you’re single, I’ve been obsessed with everything she published. I’m so happy she has a podcast, the material she covers is hilarious and necessary! Thank you Shani!

I am so thankful I can across Shani’s podcast. Not only is it empowering but reassuring that I am not alone in this crazy dating/single world. It has help me self reflect and I proud to be a single woman in my 30s!

Truly enjoying this extremely relatable podcast that has so far touched on friendships, travel, hauling big items, dating, not dating, self-acceptance, and many other topics. Looking forward to more episodes!
