I would cancel a date to listen to this podcast instead
This podcast is amazing. That doesn’t feel like a good enough word to describe it, but it’s also how I describe Mac and Cheese (which is the best, I am not willing to argue about this) so it will have to be enough. The community of this podcast is informative and validating, and each episode feels like an empowering self-hug: pasta also provides this kind of validation for me, okay. One of my closest college friends recommended this to me a few months ago and I have non-stop been listening. I’ve learned so much about myself and what I want (and need) to honor about my individual self as well as what I choose to surround myself with. I’ve sent it to countless people and wish there was a way I could make all of my friends listen to it (is it legal to like, hack my roommate’s airPods and just play this for her?). Shani is an incredible host; she is honest and authentic and I love nodding and laughing along with her when I listen to this show. She has so many unique and knowledgeable guests and I trust her so much that I feel like I could approach her like a friend even tho we have literally never met?? For example, what cat litter do you use? Is low price kitty litter okay??? Anyway, “A Single Serving” has so much depth and insight on a variety of topics. Somehow, listening to this podcast makes me feel like I’m the one being heard, and you, dear review reader, deserve to have that feeling too.

Refreshingly authentic with twisted funny banter and wit...Shani has an undeniable talent with her quick dialogue and verbal translations of how a single gal thinks, feels, struggles, all the while also enjoying her single-hood. Very much have been enjoying. Thank you!

It's very relatable and provides a new and interesting voice on a topic that isn't usually talked about. I look forward to...Read full review »

This podcast is a breath of fresh air for singles. I love how it is not aimed at trying to ‘land your man’. Instead it is focused on encouraging a sense of community and belonging amongst us single, successful women living our most authentic lives. Well over due! Thanks so much to Shani, for...Read full review »
