Description
With the 2024 Oscar nominees being released yesterday, the A24 rocks crew looks back at a previous Best Picture winner and a film that inspired many A24 films: No Country For Old Men. Written and directed by the Coen Brothers, and based off a Cormac McCarthy book: No Country For Old Men won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (for Javier Bardem), and Best Adapted Screenplay. It follows Vietnam veteran Llewelyn Moss (portrayed by Josh Brolin) after he finds a suitcase full of money from a drug deal gone wrong. The money isn't without strings, though, as he soon realizes crazed psychopath Anton Chigurgh (portrayed by Javier Bardem) is tracking him down for the money.
