Lyrical, well written, well produced. Haunting in a way some novels are. Seems to say: “You can go home again, but sometimes it’s hollowed out. Let’s puzzle over what remains and maybe learn a little something about ourselves.” Big recommend.

Artistic and sensitive look at the cultural phenomenon of abandoning buildings and physical plants, including schools, hotels, homes, and other institutions rather than taking responsibility for these wasted wonders. Blake is able to see beauty among the wreckage.
