Ginele’s first (silent) meditation retreat
Listen now
Description
In this episode, Christabel interviews Ginele about her first mediation retreat. At the time of recording the episode, we did not understand that a 6 day intensive silent retreat meant that it was 6 days of NO cell phone, NO music, NO reading, NO writing to name a few things. Whew, the fears that came up after we learned that information is one for the books.   We can’t wait to have a post retreat episode where we delve into the lessons Ginele learned.  We’ve been together almost eight years and this is the first time we’ve gone without speaking to each other for this long. Well, minus when we were separated going through a divorce. Still, this was scary for us in many ways and affirming of our love and devotion to doing life together.  Some resources we mentioned if you’re looking to start a meditation practice or your own: Ten percent happier: this is hands down our favorite app to meditate with. There are a mix of courses, guided and unguided meditations as well as interviews. They also have a podcast by the same name which is phenomenal.  Spirit rock mediation center: This is where Ginele is attending her silent retreat. They’re a great resource if you’re looking to deepen your practice and dip your toe (or deepen) into Buddhism. They have a lot of resources for Black, Indigenous, people of color including remote sangha (community) gatherings.  Call to action: While you’re here, please remember to rate and write a review. It goes a long way to producing a successful podcast and we want nothing but success for our baby.
