East Asian centric, lots of privilege
I think this is a great effort to create content for Asian American woman. However, it falls short by centering privileged East Asian women without acknowledging it. The episode about hair is the last one I listened to because it was so narrow in its scope. Their approach to the non-profit/art space is borderline offensive given that many folks want to go into these fields and should not be considered “brave” or have it considered “extra” because it’s not making a load of money like these ladies obviously are. I wanted to like this podcast so bad, but they will need to take an Asian American Studies course before I do so. Their theories on attractiveness and social issues are rootless without it. If you are not East Asian or if you are looking to learn more about “other” Asians, I definitely recommend Project Voice centers the Asian diaspora in today’s climate.

This is such a great podcast! Thank you for sharing these topics from an Asian American woman perspective. I love that it’s so relatable. I also don’t feel like it’s a podcast, it’s like I’m having a conversation with my friends. Keep up the amazing work boss girls (woman).
