“This was a fantastic idea. I’m in the middle and have watched the world change from “this is your role and your place” to “decide for yourself what your role and your place is.” This concept changes what one considers important, how one views the world, how one interacts with others who are in different places with different values. This gets further complicated by how this changes because of lived experiences. This is a great dialogue ACross Generations that helps each other understand the point of view where each other come from. An update since I last reviewed. I’ve just listened to the sex work and abuse episodes. You truly are having the conversations no one is having, but more importantly the conversations we need to have. I’m listening to the current episode and Tiffany I do understand Saturday chores. Even to this day I refer to Motown as house cleaning music. When I was a kid, we’d open up the doors and all the windows. Our mother, who is from Detroit, would start blasting Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin for the whole neighborhood to hear while we were scrubbing the walls, cleaning the windows, dusting the ceiling fans and any other deep cleanings tasks my mother had on her mind. We’d be singing like we didn’t need the money, dancing and scrubbing the walls.”
