“Just wanted to say thanks for a great insight into the behind the scenes of a CUP driver. Learning and loving NASCAR so much more because of this podcast. I have an idea on how NASCAR could make races a bit more exciting and also more rewarding for clean drivers/driving. I know you guys are all complaining about the tires situation and how the fall off doesn’t really effect race results that much but what if they introduced a rule that if you are deemed to be the instigator of a wreck and cause a caution you can’t come in to get tires with the rest of the field, you have to wait and pit with the lap down cars one lap later if you want fresh tires? You won’t be put a lap down but your punishment is that if you want sticker tires you have to essentially give up all of your track position to get them as a deterrent for driving dirty. Gives the teams a choice of either stay out on old and potentially flat spotted tires or go to the end of the longest line to have fresh tires with the rest of the field?? Love your work boys, keep it up and you’ve got yourself another Denny fan from Australia mate!!”
