“Just listened to this podcast for the first time and was immediately turned off by its rather restrictive views on design under the guise of “sophistication”. While the host seems knowledgeable and bubbly, touting hard and fast rules like “no accent walls” and “you can never successfully execute an industrial-glam” look doesn’t leave much room for artistic exploration. When done well, these elements can look stunning in a home. Some of the most influential designers in the world do this very thing. I understand that this podcast may be for everyday people who feel overwhelmed by design processes in general and find strict rules helpful. That’s fine, but it seems like actual style is being compromised here.
If your goal is to create a pristinely staged, cookie cutter house, this podcast might be for you. Folks who desire a home with soul- one that is deeply personal and design-forward, you should skip this one.”
