“I found the podcast doing research on cetaceans, a life-long interest. I was so impressed with the hosts knowledge of cetaceans in general and specifically of the Salish Sea, I planned a trip to Friday Harbor. We went on a beautiful day in May with Maya’s Legacy and were lucky enough to encounter both humpback whales ‘Big Mama’ and ‘Zig Zag’ and ten transient orcas from three matrilines, T863a, T71b, and T124a including a new baby born in 2024.
Captain and host Sara is amazing with her encyclopedic knowledge of cetaceans and skill with the boat - they truly ‘go the distance’ to find wildlife. It was the trip of a lifetime! We are forever fans!
