Samsung Electronics Co. has banned the use of generative AI tools by its employees following the accidental leak of sensitive code through the popular ChatGPT platform, dealing a blow to the adoption of such technology in the workplace. In a memo seen by Bloomberg, the South Korean firm told staff at one of its biggest divisions that external servers could store data transmitted to AI platforms such as Google Bard and Bing, making it challenging to delete and retrieve it and leaving it at risk of being disclosed to others.
