Sanity in a crazy world
I managed to get through 34 years of life before I stumbled upon the recordings of Alan Watts. I regret that it had taken that long. These free podcasts have been a joy to listen to so far. Alan was a master of the spoken word with the ability to communicate very profound, deep & insightful information in language which slips into the mind easily through his charm, wit & warmth of personality. I strongly recommend these recordings to anyone from any walk of life who has an interest in the deeper meaning of existence regardless of their creed. He does not preach any particular doctrine; he does not suggest that you believe in what he has to say. It would be more appropriate to say that at the core of his dialogues, he is asking the listener to look at what they already think & know, then really look at what they think they know. If anything, one feels that having listened to Alan, life has somehow got incredibly bigger, reality more vivid, knowledge deeper. His perspectives have an uncanny sense of ‘the truth’ about them, and by extension of that, one finds it easy to be engaged by the concepts that he speaks about. As some of the recordings suggest, Alan Watts offered ‘timeless wisdom’, these recordings are a remarkable legacy & we are fortunate enough to enjoy them as a gift. They may not turn your world upside down but they’ll probably help the listener feel a sense of clarity amongst the fuzzy chaos of this life.

I guess I like Alan Watts' lectures because apart from his awesome ability to explain eastern...Read full review »
