I’m a sports journo from down under and have always been more of a casual football fan. I loosely grew up supporting Newcastle United, but couldn’t stomach the Crown Prince takeover, so decided to find a new team. After a decent think and look around, last year I landed on Brighton (over Brentford), mainly due to a cleaner and more interesting ownership structure, a bit of recent Aussie connections and it’s clearly a group doing a lot of the right things on and off the pitch right now. It’s been an absolute privilege to support this team and it’s reinvigorated my interest in football.
