I really like the campaign setting. A hopeless now win situation that is almost certain death for your party. It’s so strange to me that people are mad about finite resources or their being consequences for your actions in a game that is determined by…your actions. It’s so refreshing to get to hear both sides of a conflict. In my opinion the DM didn’t properly articulate the lethality of this campaign. Improvisation is the soul of dungeons and dragons. My approach to DMing is creating a rough outline of plot devices that my players can run into that will propel the story forward. Of course most of the time they go in the complete opposite direction and I shift my plot devices that way or simply make things up.
