About Mike Baron Mike Baron was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He graduated from The University Of Wisconsin with a BA in political science. While he was still in college, his aspirations of becoming a comic book artist were dashed when he was introduced to Steve Rude. The two formed a fast friendship which led to the eventual creation of Nexus. Baron is a prolific writer, having written stories for Marvel and DC as well as many independent companies. He is a lifelong fan of Bruce Lee, and has a second degree black belt in karate.
