“I’m a mom. I’m a grammy. I’m a retired educator and education union President. And, I’m a survivor. My mother is a survivor. My sister is a survivor. My daughter is a survivor. All different men, all different scenarios, all differently scarred.
Thank you for this podcast series, Alyssa. It was apparent throughout that this is very personal to you and personal for your children. As an educator of 35 years, but also as a parent and grammy, I concur that education is first. We must educate women and men, boys and girls, same and differently oriented. Everyone. The #MeToo movement is helping in that as are the already activists such as yourself, VP Biden, and Tarana Burke. Every little girl needs to understand and value that her body is her own, and every little boy needs to understand the value of every person and her the difference between yes and no, okay and not okay. The spotlight is on this issue. Let’s continue to use the momentum to educate.
The greater the understanding among more people, the easier it will become to legislate right policies. The pendulum is swinging and it’s time to take the momentum to Capitol Hill. Using your celebrity for activism is the voice and inspiration we need to get ourselves involved. It’s become very okay not to be silent. Activism is in motion.
Again, thank you! I’ll listen to every podcast.
With respect, Pam(@poberembt/grammypam)”
