“I am pro-vaccine, and was extremely disappointed with America Dissected. There is no rigor involved in the arguments being discussed. No meaningful scientific inquiry. No examination of any specific concerns with vaccines. Just a general demonstration of, “vaccines are good, anti-vaxx is bad, is propaganda.” Same old pro-vaccine repeat. A real investigation of this topic would take on the main concerns of the anti-vaxx movement scientifically. There are really just a handful of main ideas that underpin the movement, but this podcast didn’t dissect them at all. It just said that everyone who doubts vaccines is infected with propaganda. The logic of the podcast is completely a priori. Lazy journalism. The arguments of the anti-vaxx movement are very specific, and a broad-brush rebuttal like this, which treats the opposition like children, only empowers them. This show made the pro-vaccine camp appear very weak.”
