Short but impactful episodes
While I listen to several SQPN podcasts, I hesitated to start listening to this one. Why? Well, sometimes it is tough for me to stay current on my other podcasts, and this would be one more, and I am used to some podcasts running over an hour an episode. Why did I change my mind? I always have loved history, and one thing that has been lacking is a modern American Catholic history especially in audio form. I started listening in November 2021, but each time I listen to the newest episode that comes out each week, I go back and listen to the oldest unplayed episode. While those episodes are generally shorter, they are still very informative. In this way, I’m hoping to finally get caught up in about 2 years. While other reviewers have mentioned, these episodes are perfect for traveling. I introduced my wife to the one about the first US chaplain killed in World War II at Pearl Harbor as we were driving an hour away, and it made 20 minutes of that drive go by that much faster and more interestingly.

There’s nothing like a good story to make history interesting, and the Crowes are great storytellers. Not all the episodes are about saints, but they’re all inspiring, entertaining, and worth the listen.
