Myrtle Snow based on Grace Coddington of Vogue!
Hello everybody! I am eagerly awaiting the finale podcast! Generally I have really enjoyed all the AHS podcasts this season, once I got used to the voices and personalities. As with most of the AfterBuzz TV podcasts, though, I feel that the choice to IMMEDIATELY cover each episode (which I realize is the AfterBuzz “thing”) often causes the discussions to be sometimes a little unstructured and not as knowledgeable and comprehensive as the might be otherwise. Anyway, fun to listen to. One thing I wanted to add to the conversation (and I am surprised I have not heard or read this anywhere)—is that the character of Myrtle Snow is clearly based on a real person, Grace Coddington, who is the longtime creative director of Vogue magazine. Simply Google some images of Grace Coddington and you will see that at least visually she is obviously the inspiration for Mrytle!! Also, Myrtle’s passion for fashion and her encyclopedic knowledge of the history and famous figures of design are very much like Grace. The documentary “The September Issue” (which I think is now streaming on Netflix) shows a lot of Grace at work, and I cannot help but think Ryan got his idea for Myrtle here!! I guess Myrtle was my favorite character this season—so funny and fabulous—although among the other experienced actresses on the show there were so many great performances!! Well, hope to hear you guys next season—wonder what is in store for us??

David totally makes this afterbuzz panel worthy. His great insight and control over the show allows for great topics of discussion and theories. Keep up the great work. Shout out to Sarah and Oriana!

Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. I know we all need to stay hydrated, but I could do without hearing the hosts smack and swallow "in glorious surround sound!"Read full review »

I do not watch the program on TV so I rely on the recap and funny commentary of the hosts. I really enjoy the retailing of each episode. I get a great visual in my mind. Thanks!
