Either be sexy or don’t.
“Interview with a Gay security guard” is a great piece that I feel everyone should listen to despite the following review. I found this podcast from Joey’s Jockstrap Stories and I’ve listened to almost every episode of Older Gay. On one hand, I appreciate the intimacy- it’s insightful to listen to the memoirs a fellow Gay man of a different generation. On the other hand, I feel a little duped. Maybe my hormones are too wild but I felt teased and disappointed by the “hot” and “sexy” stories as they’re mostly anecdotes of voyeurism, which is cool and all but more than half of the time it’s false advertising. Beyond the sexual frustration, Joey, I know self promotion is important but you spent far too much time in each episode asking for the attention: I’m already listening, give me what I want and I’ll come back. Also, I find the excuse “we are all guys here” really diminishes the truth behind those locker room glances (because you are looking for fun not just ‘science’) and it feeds into the stereotype that gay men are predators looking for the opportunity to pounce.

I came across An Older Gay Guy podcast by accident and I've become an addict. Joey is at times funny, usually informative and always worth a listen. I'm in his target audience and it's great to know that there is hope for Gay men after 30!Read full review »
