An Unexpected Delight
The works of Tolkien can be a bit daunting to read at times. And a podcast that averages at two and a half hour episodes can be just as daunting. But if you take the time to sit down and listen to the chapter by chapter analysis that Lane and Ezra provide on this show, you’ll find yourself listening to one of the best podcasts around. Do the episodes get long? Yes. Do they tend to ramble on certain points? Absolutely. But what they achieve wonderfully is create a book club for Tolkien fans, old and new. Listening to the two of them go back and forth through each chapter is like you’re actually sitting down with your close friends to talk about your favorite characters. And the community they’ve created to go along with this read through makes it so much more than just a podcast, than just a couple of guys talking about some book. It’s a fellowship of sorts that is certain to make you feel right at home.
