“It’s a little bit sad to go back and review this podcast after Harris’s death, but it’s hard not to want to celebrate this as one of the many delightful things he put out into the world.
This podcast is itself a lot like Harris’s life: too short but amazing for what was there. It’s because of this show that I really gave Phish a chance. However, I have to admit that I think Phish fans were right to criticize Harris’s methods of convincing Scott Aukerman, as Harris’s presentation of clips didn’t convert me as much as listening to Junta did.
To be fair to Harris and Scott: I would never have listened to Junta without this podcast, and playing a 15-minute jammed-out Phish song may not make for the best podcast material, especially when the podcast is just as much about Harris and Scott’s dynamic as it is about Phish.
That Harris and Scott were willing and able to capture their friendship and share it with all of us through this highly entertaining show is a true gift, which is why I feel compelled to give this five stars.”
