“I used to be an OG listener who listened to every episode as it came out, but in college I fell behind. When I did have (some) time to catch up, the 40+ min intros killed my interest. I like some banter like in the early episodes, and I like to hear about their lives, but I just don’t have the time to listen to all of that anymore. If you are a few behind and only have an hour or so to listen at a time, the intros take up all of that time. Catching up feels like a daunting task at this point. The other thing that killed my interest was the TikTok style censorship that they picked up around 2020. Listen, it’s a podcast about ghosts and murder. Anyone listening should know that people are going to die. It’s quite literally the reason why any of the stories exist. And anyone listening should also know that there is going to be violence, sexual or not. I cannot take it seriously listening to the episodes anymore bc the whole time it’s “unalived” this and “SA” that. If there are people who are sensitive to the topics discussed on a murder and paranormal podcast, they should know full well what they’re getting into. I understand wanting to make people comfortable, but the censoring is kind of ridiculous. Obviously, if it’s a particularly bad episode, put a disclaimer at the top of the episode and in the description if you want to, but that’s all that’s needed. It’s not TikTok; saying murder and killed won’t get you shadow banned.”
