“Thank you for this podcast that truly is about belonging. As a Mexican American girl growing up in Texas, everything just hits so close to home. I’ve always loved Selena and her music is still played constantly in my house. My parents immigrated here from Mexico and my culture is very deeply rooted in everything that I am. Like Selena, Ive always considered myself ni de aqui, ni de allá. This podcast is entirely too relatable and it’s so nice to finally feel that.
Fun fact: I got to see Selena live in Houston. My parents took me as a toddler lol. She opened up for Bronco that night. I only have what I think is a glimpse of a memory from that night but I’m forever thankful I got to be a part of it.”
