Did’t know I needed this!
I was 14 when Selena was murdered and I remember that day like it was yesterday. At that young age I didn’t know how to articulate the loss I felt. Now I realize through Selena and her way of being we had a sort of permission to also be ourselves. To be bi-cultural. To be Mexican and American at the same time. Anything for Selena is bringing up those feelings for me. To look at, analyze and put to rest. I can’t wait to hear more episodes.

I like Selena and I play her music from time to time, almost instinctively, as something I’d like to pass down to my daughters. This podcast is beautifully written. I didn’t expect this to be so personal for me... but here I am crying. Tha k you for your work Maria Elena!

This podcast had me hooked from the first few minutes. It’s so well written, and Maria is an excellent storyteller. Can’t wait for more!
