For the 'Voyager' in all of us!!!
Jacob Edgar's innovation and genius lies not so fully in the discovery of great 'World Musics', [those of us who live and teach abroad have long known its marvel and ability to reach across boundaries in ways other disciplines simply cannot] as it does in capturing the vibrant sounds, stories and colors of our planet's Art of sound and its peoples. Having lived and taught in Okinawa for the last eight years, introduced 'music technology' to the teachers of South Africa and shared in the melding of choral traditions throughout Europe, I appreciate STUMBLING upon this 'new-to-me' APT Podcast treasure. I have a new understanding of what it is to be a 21st-century ethnomusicologist and feel empowered to use the power of video and the Artist's own words and musical Blessings in my personal future travels and teachings, and them share them with the world :) Thanks Mr. Edgar for your vision... I only wish I had thought of it first!!! Timothy M. Black Dir. of Choral Music & AP Music Theory US Dept. of Defense Schools Okinawa, Japan
