Description
Welcome to the 26th episode of the Ask a NICU Mama Podcast where we will be discussing all things NICU related. In today’s episode titled “Journey to Gratefulness” I am joined by Jameeka.  Jameeka delivered her daughter at 27 weeks gestation after being hospitalized for several weeks.  Her daughter was in the NICU for 340 days and was discharged with a trach, gtube and VP shunt.  Jameeka is so raw and authentic during this episode.  She shares the highs and lows of raising a medically complex child. She is so full of hope and light and her faith is so evident throughout this episode.  She shares how she had to learn how to advocate for her daughter while she was still pregnant, nurturing her relationship, and she leaves words of encouragement for NICU families who are at the beginning of their NICU journey.  This episode is for all of the NICU parents but especially for those who were told of everything their child would likely never do.  The parents who were told to prepare themselves for their child’s death.  Jameeka's quote that stuck out to me the most was “It was 340 days of a lot of tears, a lot of down pours of rain, but the rainbow that came at the end was all worth it.” You do not want to miss any part of this episode.
