With my first baby on the way, I know there will be challenges ahead of us, and I’m terrified. I came out of an imperfect childhood (raised in a cult, my parents were abusive in various ways, yet I thank God for all my experiences as the passage in 2 Corinthians 1 really sums up His leading me through suffering to help others…I have a whole manuscript of a book for it).
It’s so hard to think I will make mistakes that could potentially hurt my child, and my mind goes to the worst possibilities. We already have challenges before she (Evelyn) is born as she has been diagnosed with cleft lip and cleft palate—which comes with a whole slew of challenges I never realized that community went through—it could require multiple surgeries, special dental procedures, speech therapies, and the list goes on. No matter what happens, I want to lead her in the way that she should go—a relationship with Christ despite any challenges she will face. I am so thankful to have a family to learn from and can’t wait to listen to and glean from the topics you cover on this new podcast. ♥️
