“I thought I was crazy. I thought my child was crazy. I thought we were beyond help or understanding because we have a daughter who passes for completely “typical” and “fine” in social scenarios (school, grandparents’, doctors offices, etc) but is entirely another human at home. As her mom, and external nervous system 100% of the time, I was deep in burnout and felt so isolated and alone, like my kid was too “normal” for us to get help, but too challenging for us to have a peaceful home and, because I knew our extremely challenging 5 year old wasn’t really to blame, I was blaming myself. I came across Casey’s content on instagram which led me to this life changing podcast. It was like listening to someone describe my own life. We are finally beginning to understand our daughter and healing from burnout and years of building resentment. In this podcast Casey doles out easily digestible segments on living with and supporting a PDA (Pathologically Demand Avoidant) child or teen. She so clearly explains and educates parents, caregivers, and professionals on the ins and outs of supporting and understanding a PDA child and she does it in a way that is not only extremely informative and in depth, but also easy to understand and relate to (for some of us parents, maybe the first time ever). This podcast has truly made such a difference in our home!”
